About The Squire Road Master Plan
Squire Road is more than a transportation corridor; it is simultaneously a regional connector, a commercial district, a neighborhood edge, and an environmental interface with Rumney Marsh. It is a place that many residents experience daily but few experience comfortably.
The Squire Road Master Plan is a planning effort that will guide both near-term improvements and long-term transformation. Envisioning the corridor’s future will require balancing multiple priorities: improving safety and accessibility while maintaining regional mobility functions; encouraging reinvestment while protecting community stability; and leveraging growth opportunities while strengthening connections to adjacent neighborhoods and ecological systems.
The Squire Road Master Plan seeks to develop a shared vision and actionable framework for transforming Squire Road into a safer, greener, more welcoming, and more economically vibrant corridor.
Why Now?
Squire Road is at an important moment of change. As Revere continues to grow and development pressures, transportation needs, environmental challenges, and market conditions evolve, there is an opportunity to proactively shape the corridor’s future rather than respond to change one project at a time.
The Squire Road Master Plan will help the City and community identify shared priorities, align public and private investment, and establish a clear framework for future redevelopment and infrastructure improvements.

What Is a Corridor Master Plan?
A Corridor Master Plan is a long-range framework that guides the future growth, development, investment, and transformation of a specific roadway and the areas surrounding it. It articulates a shared vision for the corridor and provides a strategic vision for land use, transportation, economic development, urban design, public space, infrastructure, and environmental resilience.
